Activities

The business of the Federation is carried out by its Governance Group. Each member WEA has a delegate on this body and has a vote at all Federation meetings. The FWEA president is elected by the annual general meeting.

FWEA holds regular governace meetings which consult members and other interested parties in the course of decision making on national policy issues. The Governance Group is mostly involved in strategic planning, securing nationally sourced funding and its distribution, and quality assurance issues, operating within a constrained budget.FWEA operates with significant voluntary involvement.

We have an annual conference and AGM, as well as holding twice yearly professional development meetings for staff and voluntary workers.

The FWEA General Secretary, in conjunction with the Governance Group, ensures the business of the organisation flows smoothly throughout the year. Our national office is in the ACE House in Wellington.
